Credit Engine launches an AI Negotiation Chat: Enhancing Customer Service and Business Efficiency in Debt Management and Collection

Credit Engine, Inc. (Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Seiichiro Uchiyama); is a prominent provider of the online lending system "CE Online Lending Platform." The company has recently introduced a new feature within its "CE Collection" service. This addition is the AI Negotiation Chat, designed specifically for handling overdue receivables. Credit Engine has disclosed its plans to carry out a proof of concept (PoC) experiment in collaboration with its affiliated group company, LENDY Servicing.

Credit Engine has championed the digital transformation of debt management and collection through its innovative "CE Collection" digital system. To address a crucial challenge in collections, specifically enhancing the quality and operational efficiency of debtor inquiries, particularly in repayment/payment consultations, the company is initiating a Proof of Concept (PoC) using generative AI. The PoC will be conducted through the chat function on the debtor-only webpage provided by CE Collection. Preceding in-house tests have demonstrated over a 90% improvement in business efficiency. Moving forward, the system will be refined by integrating a mechanism that utilizes the generated AI for assessing the responses of the AI.

LENDY Debt Collection, licensed by the Minister of Justice in Japan for debt management and collection, is slated to implement this test. The results will be made available to the public in the future as part of a new feature in "CE Collection" and also as a standalone service. Continuous enhancements to the system's quality are planned, leveraging the insights gained from incorporating generated AI into the evaluation process.

The AI is equipped to pose questions, offer consultation on repayment and payment matters, conduct various types of hearings, and secure commitments for contact and payment. Moreover, the responses generated by the AI can undergo further evaluation by the system, aiming for continuous enhancement in quality. As an initial step, this service will be integrated into the chat function of "CE Collection," accompanied by a suggestion feature enabling operators to review AI-generated responses before sending them.
